Outline of Research at the Start

本研究の目的は、ハキリアリの音響コミュニケーションの実態を解明するために、3つの到達目標を設定する。（１）「音」がハキリアリの社会行動・利他的行動に大きな影響を与えていることの検証、（２）ハキリアリの行動を音によって人為的にコントロールする、（３）ハキリアリにおける「言語体系」の解明を目指す、である。この3つのテーマは、すべて新規性の高い学術的独自性を有し、新興の学問分野である生物音響学に新たな研究フィールドを拡大・構築するだけではなく、ヒアリやハキリアリなど農業被害、経済被害の大きいアリ類の新たな防除法開発にまで繋げていけるものと考えられる。
