Outline of Research at the Start

ヒトにおいて、赤色が恋愛や恐怖といった様々な情動を促進する認知上のバイアスの存在が明らかになった。この心理特性は、ヒト社会において、信号などの生活デザインや広告シグナルとして広く利用されてきた。本研究は、赤色に対する情動バイアスが、ヒトだけでなく、動物界に普遍的な現象かを検証する。そのために、赤色が弁別可能な脊椎動物において始めに分岐した無顎類と、同様に赤色が弁別可能な無脊椎動物のクモ類と軟甲類を対象にした比較行動実験を行う。既に行動レベルで情動バイアスの存在が示唆される脊椎動物・硬骨魚類では生理学的解析を行う。
