Outline of Research at the Start

チロシナーゼは色素細胞（メラノサイト）において、皮膚や毛髪の色調を決定するメラニンを生合成する主要酵素である。遺伝的疾患、加齢や生活習慣により生じる皮膚や毛髪の色調異常を改善するためのチロシナーゼを標的とした医薬品や化粧品の開発は、QOL向上において極めて重要であるまた近年メラノーマ治療において、チロシナーゼ分解産物のネオ・アンチゲン化による自己免疫誘導が提唱されている。したがって、チロシナーゼの翻訳後修飾と分解の分子制御機構を理解することは、新規化粧品、白斑・白髪治療薬、メラノーマ治療薬・治療法の開発に繋がることが期待される。
