Outline of Research at the Start

世界的アウトブレイクが発生し、我が国でも重点感染症と位置付けられるエムポックスウイルス（MPXV）感染症は、現在、感染患者に有効な治療法が確立されていない。研究代表者は、新規治療法を開発すべく研究を進め、MPXVの複数の表面抗原を認識するシングルドメイン（VHH）抗体を取得し、その多量体化によってMPXV感染中和抗体を作出した。本研究を通じて、取得した複数の抗MPXV VHH抗体を活用し、1) VHH多量体の最適化による高機能中和抗体、および、2) 感染細胞内でVHH抗体を機能させるウイルスタンパク質分解創薬の開発基盤を構築する。
