Outline of Research at the Start

申請者らは、核内タンパクhigh mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) が、化学療法誘発性末梢神経障害(CIPN)および糖尿病性末梢神経障害の発症に関与することを明らかにしている。最近、米国Food and Drug Administration (FDA) の有害事象報告システム(FEARS) のビックデータ解析により、抗がん剤オキサリプラチン投与患者において、CIPNと下痢あるいは便秘などの排便異常の間で正の相関性が検出された。そこで本研究では、HMGB1が化学療法あるいは糖尿病に伴う体性神経障害だけでなく腸管神経障害に伴う排便異常に関与する可能性について明らかにする。
