Outline of Research at the Start

現在まで、多くの研究者により種々の単量体および2量体モノテルペンインドールアルカロイド(MIA)が単離構造決定されてきたが、最近まで3量体以上のMIAの報告例は僅少であり、これは研究の結果、最終的に得られるMIAが微量であることと、構造解析の難しさが原因と考えられる。本研究の目的は、強い薬効、複雑な構造を有するMIAを含有する植物を素材として、これまで見過ごされてきた極めて微量の3量体以上の多量体MIAを発見し、抗マラリア原虫活性、抗がん活性などを調べることで、新たな機能性を見出すことにある。
