Outline of Research at the Start

観賞用途として一般的に広く周知されている水中植物、いわゆる水草について生活習慣病および加齢性疾病と関連のある終末糖化産物(AGEs, Advanced Glycation Endproducts)の生成阻害活性、すなわち抗糖化活性を指標とした成分研究を行う。そして、場所・天候・時期等に左右されずに安定供給が可能な未開拓資源の水草から抗糖化活性成分を見出すことで、生活習慣病や加齢性の疾病予防、未病を改善する素材の創製と安定的な供給体制の構築を目指す。
