KeywordsLipid peroxidation / Chemical modification / Insulin resistance / Type 2 diabetes
Outline of Research at the Start

Type 2 diabetes is associated with oxidative stress, under which lipid hydroperoxides decompose to protein-reactive aldehydes. The proposed research will characterize lipid hydroperoxide-derived modifications to signaling proteins including insulin and investigate effects on insulin resistance.
