Outline of Research at the Start	本研究は抗がんの作用を増強する医薬品の発見とそのメカニズムを明らかにすることを目的として、新しいがん治療戦略の開発に貢献する。がん化学療法は主に抗がん剤の多剤併用により、治療効果を高める反面、副作用も発生する。がん化学療法での副作用の発生は患者QOLに大きく影響するため、副作用の予防策確立は喫緊の課題である。申請者はmTOR阻害薬エベロリムスによる肺がん細胞死の作用を増強する化合物の既存の医薬品から見出した。本研究は、抗がん増強作用を有する化合物の探索とそのメカニズムを明らかにして、新たながん治療戦略の開発や副作用リスクを軽減するがん化学療法の開発に貢献する。
