Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、病態モデルマウスを用いて、うつ病に併発する不眠症の脳内基幹メカニズムを解明するとともに、対象疾患に対するベンゾジアゼピン（BZD）系睡眠薬およびオレキシン受容体（OX-R）拮抗薬の有効性について神経科学的に検証することを目的とする。代表者らはこれまでに、当該疾患の治療においては、BZD系睡眠薬よりもOX-R拮抗薬が高い有効性を示すことを初めて明らかにした。本研究では両薬剤の治療効果の差異を生み出す機序を解明するために、うつ病モデルマウスにおける睡眠構造と睡眠/覚醒神経ネットワークの変動を経時解析するとともに、これらに対する各種睡眠薬の改善効果について評価する。
