Outline of Research at the Start

末梢神経の損傷では、運動麻痺や感覚麻痺といった機能障害が生じる。この機能障害は神経損傷程度と関連し、損傷が重度なほど結果として生じる機能障害の程度も大きくなり、機能回復程度にも影響するが、定量的・機能的な評価指標を用いて、損傷程度と機能維持および機能回復との関係を明らかにした研究は少ない。本研究では、成熟ラットの舌下神経損傷モデルを作成し、神経損傷程度や神経再生程度と機能障害程度との関係について明らかにする。神経トレーサーや免疫組織化学的手法を用いて神経損傷程度および再生程度を定量的に評価するとともに、舌下神経の損傷によって生じる舌筋の麻痺による機能障害について、その程度を評価する。
