Outline of Research at the Start

TGF-β（transforming growth factor-β）は広範な生体機能を調節する細胞増殖因子である。2020年に流蝋骨症という骨硬化性疾患で、TGF-βシグナルを伝達する細胞内タンパク質Smad3の恒常的活性化変異(S264Y)が報告された。そこで本研究ではSmad3(S264Y)が恒常的に活性化する分子機構を明らかにし、Smad3変異と病態との関係の理解を深めることを目指す。
