Outline of Research at the Start

高尿酸血症では動脈硬化をはじめとする血管障害が起こることが報告されているが、発症のきっかけになるメカニズムは明らかになっていない。高尿酸血症では炎症を引き起こす尿酸塩結晶が体内にできるが、関節部に限られ、そこに存在するマクロファージによって炎症が引き起こされると考えられている。しかし近年、尿酸塩結晶が大動脈などの関節以外にも見られることが報告された。我々は、関節以外に存在するヒト血管内皮細胞で尿酸塩結晶がどのような悪影響を与えるかを検討するための研究を行う。
