Outline of Research at the Start	本研究はがんが発生し、進展していく過程でどのような道筋をたどって「進化」していくのかを悪性腫瘍、なかでも固形癌でしばしばみられる腫瘍内不均一性（intratumor heterogeneity, ITH）に着目し、同一腫瘍内から性状の異なる組織を複数採取、それぞれ組織についてゲノム解析を行い進化系統樹を作成すると同時に、組織型、蛋白発現などの表現型についても詳細に解析し進化系統樹と対応させることにより、がんの臨床的難題である、薬剤耐性や高悪性度形質の獲得にも関わっていると考えられているがん進化に関する新しい知見を得ることを目指すものである。
