Outline of Research at the Start

乳癌は世界中の女性で最も罹患率が高い悪性腫瘍である。近年治療法の向上により生存率は目覚ましく上昇しているが、治療抵抗性の症例では未だ予後不良である。研究代表者らは、乳癌において発現が上昇しているMITF-H（小眼球症関連転写因子H型）が高悪性化の原因となり転移能を亢進させるという予備知見を得た。本研究では、MITFの女性ホルモンによる発現制御機構や、MITFが乳癌の浸潤や転移に果たす役割について、細胞生物学的手法や病理組織学的解析により解明し、乳癌の病理診断および治療戦略開発における基盤的知見の獲得を目指す。
