Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、感染性下痢症の主な原因細菌である腸管病原性大腸菌（EPEC）と腸管出血性大腸菌（EHEC）のモデル細菌として汎用されるマウス病原細菌Citrobacter rodentium (CR)を用いたモデル系で、完全な防御免疫を付与できる新規抗原の同定とそれを用いたワクチン開発を目指す。本研究は、既知の病原因子中心のアプローチとは異なる感染最初期段階の抗原をターゲットとした新しい粘膜ワクチン開発戦略、独自の粘膜アジュバントの使用が特徴である。
