Outline of Research at the Start

ホウ素中性子捕捉療法 (BNCT) による抗腫瘍効果は強力であり、局所再発・難治症例で極めて有効な治療法であるが、遠隔転移を有する患者では適応外となる。また、BNCTは高度な設備が必要で広域に普及しにくく、年間治療可能患者数も限られてしまうのが現状である。そこで、患者切除検体をBNCTで処理した後に体内に戻し抗原賦活化を誘発することによって全身性の抗腫瘍効果を惹起させる、BNCT自家ワクチンの技術開発を行い、上記問題点の解決を目指す。
