Outline of Research at the Start

早産は最も多く遭遇する産科合併症であり、児の予後を大きく左右する。早産発症には病原体感染や無菌性炎症に起因する胎盤内の過剰炎症が深く関与する。これまで我々はヒト、マウスにおける研究において、自然免疫系の異常活性化が流早産の要因になり得ることを示してきた。ところで産婦人科領域における漢方処方率は各診療科の中でも高く、産婦人科における漢方医療はエビデンスを積み重ねている。さらに妊娠期間中も安全に使用できる漢方製剤も多く、使用経験も多い。本研究では、強力な抗炎症作用を有する甘草は胎盤内での過剰炎症を抑制し、早産予防効果を発揮するのではないかと仮説を立て、動物実験を主として解析を行う。
