Outline of Research at the Start	認知症は、その多くがアルツハイマー型認知症(AD)ですが、根本的な治療法がないため社会に及ぼす人的・経済的損失が大きく、早期解決が必要です。認知症には、行動・心理症状、いわゆる周辺症状という困った症状があり、従来は抗精神病薬で症状を抑える事しかできませんでした。我々は、ADの発症に関わる分子を標的とした抗体製剤を独自開発し、これらがADの記憶障害を改善できることを明らかにしました。今回これらがADの周辺症状にも奏功する可能性に気がつきました。そこで本研究では、我々の抗体製剤がモデル動物の異常行動を軽減できるかについて検討します。さらにどういった仕組みで効果があるのかについて解明していきます。
