Outline of Research at the Start

HMGCR抗体陽性免疫介在性壊死性ミオパチー（HMGCRミオパチー）は高コレステロール血症治療薬スタチンの副作用として明らかになった筋炎である。HMGCRはスタチンの標的である点が興味深いが、筋炎とコレステロール代謝の関係は明らかでなかった。我々はHMGCRミオパチーにおいて血中HDLコレステロールが高いことを明らかにし、また筋組織のRNA解析でHDL代謝に関連するApoA4の発現が亢進し浸潤するマクロファージに発現することを見出した。ApoA4は抗炎症作用も有することから、ApoA4がHMGCRミオパチーの病理を軽減している可能性を考えた。筋炎におけるコレステロール代謝の役割解明を目指す。
