Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、電気けいれん療法（ECT）の神経生物学的作用機序を明らかにすることを目的とする。脳内の神経伝達物質であるグルタミン酸およびGABAに着目し、非侵襲的脳代謝計測手法である磁気共鳴スペクトロスコピー（1H-MRS）を用いて、ECT施行前後の濃度変化と症状改善との関連を評価する。特に、従来の技術では困難であった両物質の同時測定を実現するHERMES法とPRESS法を併用することで、より正確かつ効率的なデータ取得が可能となる。得られた結果を基に、ECTの効果を予測する生物学的マーカーを探索し、将来的な個別化医療の発展に資する知見を提供することを目指す。
