Outline of Research at the Start

ライソゾーム酸性リパーゼ欠損症（OMIM: 278000、LAL-D）はライソゾーム病と総称される50-60の遺伝子が該当する遺伝性疾患である。LAL-Dには重症型（Wolman病）と軽症型（コレステロールエステル蓄積症）の2病型があり、この2つは連続した表現型を示す。それぞれの病型には固有の遺伝子変異が知られている。申請者は独自にこの2つの疾患マウスモデルを樹立し、体重減少や脂肪蓄積の表現型を見出した（投稿中）。本研究ではさらに病態解析を進めるとともに、疾患マウスモデルを利用した治療法開発を行う。
