Outline of Research at the Start

RSウイルスは気道感染症を引き起こすウイルスで、特に乳幼児では気管支炎、細気管支炎、肺炎をきたし、入院を要する場合も少なくない。基礎疾患のない同じ年代の乳幼児であっても、感冒として自然軽快する軽症例と重症化して入院を要する症例がある。このような臨床像の違いの背景となる宿主因子はいまだ完全には明確になっておらず、重症化機序の解明は重要な課題となっている。今回我々は細胞実験系を用いてRSウイルス感染症の重症化因子を検証する。
