Outline of Research at the Start

性ホルモンは，加齢に伴い分泌動態が大きく変化し，寿命や疾病の発症に関与していることが知られている．脂肪性肝疾患は，進行すると脂肪肝炎さらに肝硬変に至る．脂肪肝炎の病態形成には，門脈由来の病原体関連分子パターン（PAMPs）およびその認識受容体を介した肝内自然免疫応答の関与が知られている．脂肪肝炎の発症および増悪には性差があるものの、そのメカニズムに関する知見は乏しく肝疾患領域での性差医学の推進が重要である．そこで，本研究では卵巣・精巣摘出による性ホルモン環境変化モデルを用いて研究を行い，自然免疫に着目した性ホルモン環境変化後の脂肪肝炎発症メカニズムの解明と、これを制御し得る分子の検索を行う。
