Outline of Research at the Start

生体防御において自然免疫の役割が重要となっており、自然免疫の活性化が阻害されると感染症で重症化することが報告されている。食物と一緒に様々なウイルスや細菌を摂取しており、特に小腸、大腸において自然免疫による抗ウイルス、抗菌活性が欠かせない。我々は大腸で自然免疫を活性化する低分子化合物群を同定した。これらの化合物は大腸がん由来の培養細胞で自然免疫系を活性化し、IFNλ3の発現を誘導することを見出した。本研究課題では低分子化合物による自然免疫の活性化機構を明らかにし、自然免疫の活性化を低分子化合物を投与することにより制御することを目指す。
