Outline of Research at the Start

末期腎不全における腎代替療法のひとつに腹膜透析がある。長期の腹膜透析の問題点として重要なものに腹膜線維化があり、除水の低下、腸管の癒着へと進展する。分担研究者の横井らはこれまで腹膜繊維症マウスにおいてpleiotrophinが増加し、MMP-10が重要であることを見出した。今回の研究においてMMP-10誘導に必要なp38MAPKに注目し、中皮細胞での役割を明らかにする。まず、中皮細胞p38 MAPKノックアウトマウスや培養中皮細胞を用いて中皮細胞におけるp38 MAPKの役割を検討する。また、ヒト腹膜組織のp38 MAPKの発現を検討し、腹膜平衡試験との関連を検討する。
