Outline of Research at the Start

粘膜型ハイリスクHuman papillomavirus (HPV)は、子宮頸癌や咽頭癌などの内蔵癌以外に、皮膚癌の原因となる。爪部ボーエン病が粘膜型ハイリスクHPVの体表面リザーバーである可能性があり、爪母におけるHPV感染様式と爪表面の産生ウイルス量を明らかにし、爪部ボーエン病と内臓癌のHPVタイプを比較する。本研究により、爪を介した粘膜型ハイリスクHPVの新たな感染ルートを解明する。研究成果はHPVに関連する診療科、研究領域においても有意義であり、世界に向けて発信する予定である。
