Outline of Research at the Start

ウイルス感染細胞を標的として傷害するCD8陽性T細胞は、感染後のウイルス増殖抑制・病態発症阻止に寄与しているが、ワクチン誘導CD8陽性T細胞が感染局所におけるウイルス感染細胞を迅速に排除することで、広義の感染成立阻止にも寄与し得ると想定される。本研究では、先行研究においてワクチン接種によりSIV感染防御に至ったサル個体における抗原特異的CD8陽性T細胞の性状や免疫学的機能を詳細に解析することにより、ワクチン誘導CD8陽性T細胞によるウイルス経粘膜感染防御機序を明らかにするとともに、ワクチン有効性評価の免疫学的指標を明らかにする。
