Outline of Research at the Start

B型肝炎ウイルス(HBV)は感染後、肝細胞核内に複製鋳型であるcovalently closed circular DNA(cccDNA)を形成する。既存の薬剤ではcccDNAの完全排除が極めて難しいため、異なる作用機序を持つ新たな治療薬候補の開発が急務である。
本研究は、HBVカプシドタンパク質を標的とした新規カプシド形成阻害剤を設計・合成し、またそれらの阻害活性評価と作用点の解析を行う。本研究を通じ、慢性B型肝炎の完全治癒に向けた新規治療薬候補物質の創出を目指す。
