Outline of Research at the Start

肺MAC症は結核菌の類縁の細菌感染で起こる病気であり、結核よりも患者が多くなっている。薬剤耐性菌の肺MAC症も増加しており有効な治療法はほとんどなく、新規治療薬や治療法の開発が急務である。申請者は、肺MAC症の高病原性臨床株で標準型と比較して免疫反応に寄与する1型インターフェロンが誘導されないこと、またその原因が抑制型ヒストン修飾（H3K27Me3）により制御されている可能性を見出した。本申請研究では、高病原臨床分離株での1型インターフェロン抑制メカニズムの解明と抑制型ヒストン修飾に関与する薬剤で肺MAC症の治療効果が得られるか研究を行う。
