Outline of Research at the Start

ピリミジン合成経路異常症は、発達障害、難治性てんかん、赤血球異形成による貧血を呈する希少疾患であるが、特異的検査所見に乏しく診断が困難である。本研究では、血液・尿中の代謝物定量およびCAD酵素活性測定法を確立し、ウリジン・UMP治療の有効性と安全性を臨床的・生化学的に検証する。さらに、遺伝学的変異と生化学的表現型の関連を明らかにし、診断と治療の基盤構築を目指す。得られた成果は、国内における早期診断体制と治療薬承認に向けたエビデンス創出に貢献する。
