Outline of Research at the Start

急性呼吸窮迫症候群(acute respiratory distress syndrome：ARDS)では、肺胞上皮に発現している終末糖化産物受容体（Receptor of Advanced Glycation E-products: RAGE）が炎症性リガンドを認識して炎症反応を惹起し肺胞上皮の過剰な細胞死を誘導してARDSを重症化させる。従って、RAGEリガンド結合部位を阻害すればRAGEを介した炎症の進行を阻止しARDSの発症や進展を抑制できると予想される。本研究ではRAGEに対するアンタゴニスティックアプタマーの投与によるARDSモデル動物における肺の保護作用と予後について検討する。
