Outline of Research at the Start

本研究の目的は，局所進行直腸癌症例の術前治療開始前患者血漿を用いて循環腫瘍DNA (circulating tumor DNA: ctDNA)におけるDNAメチル化を解析し，術前治療に対する感受性を予測する遺伝子のctDNAメチル化を探索することである．
各遺伝子におけるctDNAメチル化の状態と術前治療における奏効度の関連性の評価により，術前治療への感受性を予測出来るようになれば，術前治療が妥当な症例の絞り込みが可能となることが期待出来る．また，同時に，術前治療に対する感受性の乏しい症例が同定できれば，無効な術前治療による有害事象や手術時期の遅れなど回避出来るようになるため，医療経済的にも有益で非常に重要性の高い研究である．
