Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、食道癌における免疫チェックポイント阻害剤に対する治療抵抗性および耐性獲得の機序を解明し、その機序に基づく治療開発を目的としています。本研究では、癌関連線維芽細胞に着目し、腫瘍微小環境において癌関連線維芽細胞がどのように腫瘍免疫システムに関与し食道癌の進展や免疫チェックポイント阻害剤に対する治療抵抗性に関わっているのかを明らかにし、新規治療法を探索することを目指しています。本研究により、食道癌微小環境における癌関連線維芽細胞を介した癌細胞-癌線維芽細胞-免疫細胞の相互作用が明らかにされれば、その機序に立脚した新たな治療法の構築につながる可能性があると期待しています。
