Outline of Research at the Start

我が国では手術患者の平均年齢が上昇している。高齢者で生じる事の多い術後合併症は多くの医療資源投入を必要とするため、その予防が重要である。近年、口腔機能と高齢者の健康状態との関連性が注目され、周術期においては術前の口腔ケアが術後合併症を減少させることが示されている。我が国では癌患者など特定の患者に対する術前の口腔ケアに対して周術期口腔機能管理料が認められているが、限られた医療費を有効活用するためには介入効果の高い患者群に医療資源を集中的に投入する必要がある。本研究は、術前の口腔機能と術後合併症との関連性を明らかにし、周術期に介入を行うべき患者を明らかにすることを目的とした臨床研究である。
