Outline of Research at the Start

高齢者の運転事故の原因として認知機能低下が着目されている。しかし死亡交通事故を起こした高齢者の5 0%強の認知機能は正常であり、認知機能が主要因でない可能性がある。本研究では事故原因として、高齢者に多い脊椎脊髄疾患症状、「痙性（つっぱり）」に着目する。痙性は従来下肢の腱反射などにより定性的に評価され、定量的な診断基準が存在しない。そこで本研究では、まず患者群と正常群の動作時の「下肢の筋の緊張」および「下肢の筋の動きの粗さ」を測定し比較することで、痙性を定量的に評価可能にする。
