Outline of Research at the Start

成人脊柱変形に対する手術治療は合併症など課題が多く、患者・医療費への負担は計り知れない。手術に至らないため病態の解明と予防的治療方法の確立が急務である。申請者らはMRIを用いた研究で本疾患の病態に体幹筋の萎縮・脂肪変性が関与することを明らかにした。そこで本研究では、体幹筋の萎縮・脂肪変性メカニズムに重要な役割を果たす標的分子としてAZGP1を候補とし（1）臨床サンプルを用いてAZGP1の発現と骨格筋の萎縮・脂肪変性の相関 (2) In vitroで筋芽細胞の増殖・分化・脂肪化にAZGP1の与える影響を明らかにし、体幹筋にアプローチする新規分子治療の確立を目指す。
