Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、「加齢性メタボライトがシグナルとなって骨髄幹細胞の喪失と脂肪分化を誘発し組織を脆弱化させる」という仮説をもとに、乳酸を中心に代謝物の変化と間葉系幹細胞の脂肪化亢進をつなぐ分子メカニズムを明らかにし、さらに乳酸と同様あるいは相乗的作用をもつメタボライトを探索する。また、既存薬を用いて加齢性脂肪髄の発症あるいは進行を遮断し、組織機能の改善、特に加齢性脂肪髄に対する治療介入法を開発することを試みる。
