Outline of Research at the Start

関節リウマチの滑膜組織では滑膜線維芽細胞が軟骨や骨の損傷に中心的な役割を担う。本研究では、既存の抗体医薬では到達できない細胞内の分子メカニズムを解明し、関節リウマチの病態理解と新たな治療標的の開発を目指す。特に滑膜線維芽細胞を対象に、合成mRNAを用いた遺伝子導入法やマイクロRNAによる機能解析を計画している。本研究で同定された治療標的候補に対し、核酸を基盤とした薬剤での制御が可能となれば、先進的なモダリティとしての核酸医薬の開発へとつながることが期待される。
