Outline of Research at the Start

骨粗鬆症は、高齢化や酸化ストレスにより骨が弱くなり、骨折のリスクが高まる病気です。本研究では、細胞の老化に関与するたんぱく質「HtrA1」が骨の健康にどのような影響を及ぼすかを、マウス実験や患者・住民の検体解析を通じて明らかにします。これにより、骨粗鬆症の新たな発症メカニズムを解明し、副作用の少ない治療法や予防法の開発につなげることを目指します。
