Outline of Research at the Start

重篤な妊娠合併症である妊娠高血圧腎症（PE）には、胎盤において母体と胎児の境界に位置する合胞体栄養膜細胞（STB）の機能異常が関与する可能性がある。申請者は、STB分化モデルを用いた網羅的m6A修飾解析により、STB分化に伴ってm6A修飾が著しく減少することを発見した。さらに、PE関連遺伝子がm6A修飾により翻訳制御を受ける可能性を見出し、STBにおけるm6A異常がPE発症に寄与するという病態仮説を立てた。本研究では、この仮説をもとに、PEにおけるSTBでのm6A修飾異常の役割と分子メカニズムを解明することを目的とする。
