Outline of Research at the Start

リンパ浮腫は婦人科がん術後に高頻度で発症する難治性疾患であり、現行の治療法は対症療法が中心で、根治は困難である。本研究では、非侵襲的かつ倫理的制約の少ないヒト羊水幹細胞を用いた新たな治療法の開発を目的とする。hAFSCは医療廃棄物である羊水から得られ、分化能・増殖能に優れ、免疫学的寛容性も高い。本研究では、hAFSCからリンパ管内皮細胞を誘導し、リンパ浮腫モデルマウスに投与して、リンパ管再生や浮腫軽減といった治療効果を検証する。従来の骨髄・脂肪由来幹細胞と比較してコストや調達の面で優れており、再生医療の実用化に向けた新たな選択肢となることが期待される。
