Outline of Research at the Start

顔の筋肉が麻痺してしまう重症の顔面神経麻痺は、現在の治療法では完全に治らないことがある。この研究は、体の組織の修復を助ける幹細胞を薄いシート状の細胞を神経の障害部位に貼り付けて、その細胞シートが放出する神経回復作用を長期間作用させることで、麻痺の改善を促す。まずは動物実験でこの方法の効果と安全性を確かめ、将来的には重症の顔面神経麻痺患者への臨床応用を目指す。
