Outline of Research at the Start

嗅覚障害は、気導性嗅覚障害、嗅神経性嗅覚障害のみならず、脳梗塞などの脳傷害や神経変性疾患などの中枢神経系疾患においても生じる。中枢性嗅覚障害の病態として、嗅神経よりも中枢側の嗅覚神経回路の障害の関与が考えられているが、その病態の本質は十分に解明されていない。本研究では、神経細胞の起源である幹細胞に発現している嗅覚受容体に焦点をあて、嗅覚障害の病態を幹細胞レベルで解明することを目指す。
