Outline of Research at the Start	遺伝性網膜変性症は、これまでに300以上の原因遺伝子が知られているが、未知の原因遺伝子の存在が想定されている。我々は独自のIRDs cohortに対して、全エクソームシーケンス(WES）等にて遺伝学的検査を行ってきた。この結果を活用することで新規IRDsの原因候補遺伝子を絞り込み、5系統のノックアウト（KO）マウスラインと3系統のKOゼブラフィッシュの確立に成功した。本研究では、KO動物の表現型の詳細解析を中心にIRDsの新規原因遺伝子群を網羅的に同定し、同定した遺伝子に変異をもつ家系を検索するとともに網膜変性の分子機序を系統的に明らかにする。
