Outline of Research at the Start	網膜および視神経の変性は、我が国における主要な失明原因となっている。そこで本研究では、神経栄養因子受容体あるいはインスリン受容体を常時活性型に改変し、その遺伝子治療ベクターを疾患モデル動物の眼球内に投与することにより、神経保護や視神経軸索の再生を目指す。本研究の結果は、網膜変性疾患の研究領域全般において有用な成果となることが期待される。
