Outline of Research at the Start

睡眠時無呼吸症候群（sleep apnea syndrome:SAS）は緑内障と関連することが報告されているが病態が不明瞭な点が多く、緑内障診療で認識が低いことが問題である。我々はSASが全身酸化ストレスを亢進させ、緑内障の視野進行の一因である点を明らかにしたが、SASがどのような分子機構で緑内障病態の中核をなす網膜神経節細胞死に影響を与えているか未解明である。そこで本研究は、生体の酸化脂質評価の第一人者である東北大学農学部仲川研と異分野融合研究を通し睡眠障害により生じる脂質酸化が眼局所障害を引き起こすメカニズムや原因分子を同定することを目的とする。
