Outline of Research at the Start	本研究の目的は、栄養障害状態にさらされた血管内皮細胞が、新たに病的環境を記憶して適応する機構を明らかにすることである。栄養障害記憶を獲得した内皮細胞は正常時とは異なる挙動を示し、血管の恒常性を破綻させるか検証し、記憶の消去による網膜症の根治療法を創出することを目指す。本研究を基盤として内皮細胞の栄養障害記憶をリセットして異常血管を正常化させる創薬コンセプトを生み出すと期待できる。さらに近年、腫瘍血管の内皮細胞は正常内皮細胞と遺伝子発現が異なること明らかにされており、本研究の成果が癌治療の開発にも資することが期待される。
