Outline of Research at the Start	近年他の中枢神経変性疾患で提唱されている弱った神経を回復するneurorestorativeの概念を中枢神経である網膜神経節細胞の軸索変性と引き続き細胞体死を起こす疾患である緑内障のneuroprotectionとneuroregenerationの中間のstageと位置付け、オートファジー活性による軸索保護の新たな経路を解明することで３つのstageすべてにおいて効果を発揮する、新たな緑内障治療薬発見につながる研究成果を目指す。
