Outline of Research at the Start

顔面の表情の仕組みについて、顔面表情筋群の機能解析を行い真の働き・相互作用を解明する。超音波診断装置を活用し、顔面の筋肉解剖を機能面から複合的に解析し、表情毎にその各表情筋の相互作用を明らかにする。
口輪筋を中心とする顔面表情筋群は相互作用が複雑で、その機能理論は未だ曖昧である。口唇裂を中心とする、口唇周囲の形成手術においても個々の筋肉の正常化は事実上不可能なため術後の自然な表情表出が不十分な側面が残る。本研究では、口唇周囲筋の動的解析を行い、機能的役割の詳細を解明する。口唇裂や顔面神経麻痺患者などの特有顔貌とされる問題点を解決し、「表情豊かな生活」を得るための治療法開発を目指す。
